The Tropical Gi is part of our lightweight Gis line. This weave is extremely light, yet stronger than the Pro Light Gi. The side vents are the highlights of this design which allow for a better wrap-around and improved fit. The Tropical Gi is the perfect BJJ gi for warmer weather, everyday training, travel, and also for those who prefer a lightweight competition Jiu Jitsu Gi.
Tropical Gi – Fresh, colorful, and overflowing with life. That’s what our newest Tropical Gi line is meant to represent. Designed by Australia-based Daniel Hannay, from Gold Coast, Queensland. Passionate about drawing since he could first pick up a pencil, Daniel has refined his skills across a diverse range of mediums from murals, digital art, and design to realistic portraiture.
In addition to its lightweight, pearl weave fabric has the extra benefit of being harder to grip. The ridges and rough surface formed by the pearl weaves make it a lot harder to establish a tight grip which is a huge advantage in a fight. This, along with the lightweight of the gi, makes it perfect for the competitor looking to gain that extra edge on their opponents.
The Tropical Gi has been purpose-built for the modern BJJ practitioner. It is made from some of the finest materials, such as premium cotton and pearl weave fabrics to provide comfort, in addition to being lightweight enough to be able to help you cut your weight if needed too. This material allows you to move freely, to be able to show off your skills and techniques without any restrictions.
